Blog Assignment #2

Blog Assignment #2 will focus on Writing Algebraic Expressions "Let statements" are required for this assignment!!

Due: December, Wednesday, December 9th

In your Literacy class you have been reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. You'll be viewing a few different versions of the movie that was made based on the story. Each year the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence puts on a production of A Christmas Carol.

Blog Assignment #2 asks for you to pretend that you are planning for a H.E.R.O.E.S team trip to see the production live at Trinity Rep.

An adult ticket to A Christmas Carol is $50.
A child ticket (2-14 years of age) to A Christmas Carol is $10.

1. Write an expression for the total ticket cost in dollars if A adults and
85 students attend the production.

2. Write an expression for the total ticket cost in dollars if 8 adults and
S students attend the production.

We almost forgot about transportation! If we were to need 2 buses to take us to Providence it would cost $750. The transportation cost will only be shared among the students since their ticket price is less than the adults.

3. Write an expression that represents the total cost for each student. (This means one expression that includes the price of the ticket to A Christmas Carol and his/her share of the cost of transportation.)

4. Now that you have your algebraic expressions, what will be the total cost for each student if 85 students go on the trip?

A gentle reminder:
